News Articles

The first trip we took in 2009 was also to Australia to help in bushfire recovery. Several news agencies found out about it and wrote articles about the TWCD team and their willingness to travel around the globe to serve the people of Australia.

Here are two articles from that trip.

The TWCD Story

In response to the bushfires in Victoria, Australia in the spring of 2009, a group of four men from Texas made the trip down to Australia to help out. Travis Pace, Wilson Riddle, Hugh Savage and Matt Harmon saw the suffering caused by the fires that claimed more than 200 lives, and felt the call to offer what assistance they could. A generous donation by Matt Rial of Dallas, Texas paid the travel expenses of the men. By joining with Blazeaid in Kilmore, Australia they were able to help those affected by the fires rebuild. Following the trip, Matt Rial, joined by Hank Harmon, and Travis Pace decided to form a non-profit organization to help those in need across the globe.  Today, TWCD is a fully certified 501(c)3 organization, making all donations tax-deductible, and is growing steadily every day to be a better source of aid and assistance for those in need.
